Watch "The Avengers" blow up Cleveland and panic in the streets

The first day of shooting for "The Avengers" in Cleveland got off to a rather slow start, partly due to poor weather, but reached an explosive climax by late afternoon Monday. Michael Scott, writing for the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reported on the day's events.
The explosions -- more than 100 blasts in about three seconds, according to crew holding the crowd back at Carnegie -- are expected to be part of a battle scene being filmed in Cleveland. The movie is expected to hit theaters in 2012.

The newspaper/website's readers are also playing reporter by writing in with their sightings of all things Avengers in the city. Shooting is expected to last several weeks.
